Topic Description: This conference will focus on who we are in God’s image, how God works through our imperfections and weaknesses, and how this relates to the mission of the Church as we hold out the Gospel of hope and redemption in Christ to a lost and broken world.
Speaker: Michael S. Beates is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), and the author of Disabilities & the Gospel: How God Uses Our Brokenness to Display His Grace. He is the husband of Mary and father of seven children, one of whom lives with profound disabilities and two others who face challenges. He has served on the International Board of Directors at Joni and Friends since 2000 and has been involved in Christian ministry for 30 years. He also serves as dean of students at the Geneva School in Winter Park, Florida.
