LEADERSHIP
As Presbyterians, the Pastor and the Elders (collectively called the Session) lead our congregation in worship, teaching, preaching, prayer, the sacraments, and maintaining the spiritual government of the church.
OUR PASTOR
Pastor Roy Garza
Roy was installed as the Pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in July 2025. He was raised in Houston, TX, and gave his life to Christ as a teenager. After completing three enlistments in the Marine Corps, Roy pursued the call to ministry as a church planter and pastor. He planted and pastored two churches—one near Quantico, VA, and the other in Twentynine Palms, CA. Roy also served as a short-term missionary with Mission to the World (MTW) in Belize, Central America.
Roy and his wife have four children and one grandson. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
The provisional session of Providence Presbyterian Church is comprised of pastors and elders of the North Texas Presbytery. A provisional session is a temporary body of elders appointed to govern a church that has only one local elder or no elders. The provisional session will provide oversight and guidance alongside Pastor Roy until a local session can be formed.
